SRINAGAR: Peoples Democratic Occasion President and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Saturday alleged that the federal government of India (GOI) threatened shopkeepers with FIRs who had shut their outlets on August 5 as a mark of protest.

Taking to Twitter, Mehbooba mentioned this transfer together with terminating authorities workers on “trivial” grounds and denying jobs & passports to locals was among the many confidence-building measures initiated by the GOI for the reason that all-party assembly held by the Prime Minister in June this 12 months.

“GOI threatening shopkeepers with FIRs for shutting their outlets on fifth Aug as a mark of protest is the newest addition to the rising variety of CBMs for Kashmiris for the reason that all-party assembly. First CBM – firing govt workers on trivial grounds adopted by denying jobs & passports.”

Earlier on Thursday, images and movies had gone viral on social media wherein the police allegedly had minimize open the locks of outlets in Srinagar following a shutdown on August 5 which marks the day when Article 370 was learn down and erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into union territories two years in the past.
